Café Innovation -- How about an SAP App store?
In this age of people-centric technology, the iPhone revolution has brought about new business models and innovative ways in which people seek to conduct routine business. Fueling this is the availability of an increasing number of “apps” that are a result of a community-driven approach to make the mobile experience more meaningful. Enterprise application of this approach is picking up. Possibly, it is only a matter of time before we see a plethora of “apps” serving those that have enterprise needs -- including those serviced by SAP functionality.

SAP sponsored the Web 2.0 Summit this year for the very first time -- and you might have seen Marge Breya giving the same live demo that she gave to the Web 2.0 audience at SAP TechEd this year. Has SAP "arrived" at "Web 2.0" at last? Or is Web 2.0 just catching up now?

The Real Reason Executive Participation Creates SAP Project Success
Successful SAP projects occur with executive involvement because of the nature of their role of setting direction, creating long term goals, and developing strategy. This is the hidden reason that is often overlooked--, it is their strategy "imprint" on the project that changes the dynamics. Their forward looking insight provides more possibility for satisfied customers and successful implementations than the more common reasons of authority or visibiity.

RIA Hacker Night Vienna - Replay
#sapteched09 I've been a bit slack on posting this and it's partially because I didn't want to actually share with the world the awesomeness that has been the RIA Hacker Night 2009 so far! But I guess I better at least give everyone a taste of what they missed out so far....

WWW = Way to a Wiser World!
Based on my search in the internet on the topic of Orgaanizational Wisdom I tend to form a view that the publication of these two books, one in 1998 and the other in 2007, the presentation by JPCarlisle in 2006 and many more resources in the web may be considered as an indication of the recent progress in the subject. The Chicago University's Arete Initiative and other initiatives by individuals reflected by the number of websites may certainly be taken to indicate the interest and concern with the subject. Hence we may reasonably conclude that the 'Data-Information-Knowledge-Wisdom' trajectory appears to be becoming an interesting area of study. This seems to give hope that IT would eventually help a wiser world dawn as a continuum of processing of data, information and knowledge so far.

Closing the Loop for BPXSlam09 Phoenix
Lessons We Should Learn from in First Iteration of #BPXSlam09 Thinking back to the BPX Process Design Slam event at SAP TechEd 2009 in Phoenix, I immediately start envisioning overused clichés for high tech projects. (Maybe there should be similar visuals for conducting one’s own project post-mortem as well, but I digress…) Let me add to the list of clichés by suggesting: just like a golf swing, the follow through for a scrum is as important as the rest of the project. As a team lead and one of the event organizers working with Marilyn Pratt, here are my own observations about how we should improve the next iteration of BPXSlam09 at SAP TechEd 2009 in Vienna.
