River

River is a cloud-based development environment which supports lightweight extensions to on-premises ERP (enterprise resource planning) software.

History

It is based on SAP's purchase of Coghead in 2009.

A funny story about River:  "com.versai:Bacon" is present in the urns in the REST API.  The first name of Coghead was Versai. The code name for the original platform was Bacon.
