The MaxDB/liveCache Database
MaxDB/liveCache is SAP's database technology product and is proprietary of SAP AG.
LiveCache is an additional object oriented technology based on and integrated into MaxDB. It is a hybrid system that can act either as a standard DBMS or as a memory-based application server extension. A logical further development, therefore, is the liveCache OneDB Server, which is just one database fulfilling both tasks.
Within the SAP service system MaxDB/liveCache is identified through the components BC-DB-SDB, BC-DB-LVC, BW-SYS-DB-SDB and BC-DB-LCA (liveCache applications).
