New Features:
Windows 7.0 32-bit and 64-bit Support:
The most anticipated feature of EasyDMS 7.1 is Windows 7.0 support. EasyDMS 7.1 now seamlessly integrate with the new look and feel of the Windows 7 shell. From EasyDMS 7.1 SP01 onwards 64-bit support for windows 7 is avaialble.
WTS Support for Windows 2003:
EasyDMS 7.1 now supports Windows Terminal Server(WTS). This helps users to use EasyDMS using terminal server. Check SAP note 1439220 for details.
Maintain Long Text:
EasyDMS 7.1 now supports long text along with short descriptions. This allows users and organizations to maintain long notes/descriptions about the document as in SAP DMS.
Search with in marked folder structure:
User can now search within (inside) a selected folder for the selected search criteria.
Search with document validity dates:
User can now search for document whose status is changed within a specified date range. This makes the search capability of EasyDMS 7.1 much powerful.
Note:
This feature requires specific ERP releases. Please check the validity in note 1394357. You may need to implement this note and Reset the RFC Cache after that, if this correction is not available as standard.
Resizable SAP Properties dialog:
EasyDMS 7.1 comes with new resizable SAP Properties dialog box. This enables users to work seamlessly with different resolutions, view and manage huge amount of classification data, originals, authorizations and object links.
More customizable input fields
Customers or consultants who need to capture input from user now have much more options with EasyDMS 7.1. Customizable input filed dialog in EasyDMS is now more customizable. Function Module Z_EASYDMS_INPUTFIELD now offers more options to customize your input dialog. You can now choose your size (height and width )of Input Fields dialog and can choose to have more UI elements on input field dialog. Now Input Fields dialog allows you the following controls.
- Edit Box control
- List box control
- Editable combo box
- Non-editable combo box

This section lists the other newly adapted features in EasyDMS.
Work Flow Notification:
Now EasyDMS can be configured to receive workflow notification on logon. User can then choose to launch the workflow inbox. refer SAP Note 1393846 for more info. This feature is available with older versions of EasyDMS also, but is a newly adapted feature.
PLM ACC Display:
Although PLM owning contexts are allowed to be created, searched and modified for PLM document types, there is no provision to see which ACC object is assigned to the document. This feature can be achieved by customizing in EasyDMS with custom tabs in SAP Properties dialog to show the necessary data.
New Features with Ehp5
Using EasyDMS with Ehp5 will support new features dependend of Ehp5 like
a) Support for more object link master data search help.
b) User choice to copy object links during create new version.
Windows 7 64-bit and Office 2010 support
Windows 7 64-bit and Office 2010 is supported from EasyDMS 7.1 SP01 onwards and it works seamlessly with these products.
However, exchange of document properties is still not supported for the document format launched with Microsoft Office 2007 (.docx etc).
Drag and Drop from Main view(RHS) to LHS tree view
EasyDMS 7.1 now supports Drag and Drop from the main view(RHS) to the LHS tree view with-in EasyDMS folder structure . This support was not available in earlier versions of EasyDMS and users were forced to use either copy- paste or use two window instances of EasyDMS to attain similar functionality.
