Business Process Models at BPX

Welcome to the Business Process Collection at BPX

In many discussions with other members we recognized that there is no home for Business Process Models and Definitions at BPX. For this reason we had the idea to open up a wiki-space to collect and share Business Processes inside the community. We hope to lay here the foundation for the Business Process Library of BPX. But since the expectations should not be raised too high, we decided to see this area more like a collection.

This space is open for all members and you are  invited to share with us your process definitions. Also we are always interested to share best practices around process modelling with each other. So just get started!!

How do we model?

Methodology:

We are using the Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN). You can find more information under the following links:

For each of the business process description we build an own wiki-page. You can easily get started by using the following template. Just copy the page and start adding your process to the business process collection.

Create one language, get value form conversation & find solutions together

Guiding Principles

Business Process Content is managed

  • Content is picked and endorsed by the Community
  • We, the community members, jointly agree on the way we model
  • The moderators of this space help contributors to find a consistent level of detail for their business processes
  • We provide templates that should help to create process models in a consistent way

Business Process Context drives content

  • Our ojective is to give each process model a context, because this influences its characteristics

Business Process Content is referenced

  • Content is not duplicated - it references to existing content
  • In order to ensure that the process models are not just replicated it is preferred to link to existing definitions
  • If there are related definitions, models or contents available link to them this makes a process definition more mature and helps to build up the context

Business Process Content goes beyond SAP

  • The process definitions should describe how a process should ideally looks like and not what is feasible on an SAP system
