SAP Mentor Monday: The Lost SAP TechEd session: Applying Agile to a Service-Oriented SAP Project Presenter(s): Twan van den Broek Monday January 10th 2011 1:00-2:00PM PST Some of the amazing sessions done during TechEd in 2010 were not recorded and this SAP Mentor Monday session with Twan van den Broek is a repeat, so that there is a recording for everyone interested: Applying agile processes and techniques is not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of implementing SAP in a service-oriented architecture at a large public transport provider. However, challenged with ever changing requirements and fast approaching deadlines, this project was facing severe challenges that could never be met with the traditional waterfall approach. This situation called for groundbreaking measures: introducing agile processes, principles and techniques in a highly waterfall-oriented organization. This interactive session reports live from the trenches of the first agile SAP project executed in the Netherlands and shows how the worlds of agile and SAP meet in a complex service-oriented project. After illustrating both organization and project, its environment, and the underlying service-oriented SAP technology, Twan demonstrates how agile processes (Scrum and Smart) and techniques (think of smart use cases, dashboards and workshops) were introduced to manage the project. http://www.sapteched.com/emea/edu_sessions/session.htm?id=976 Twan van den Broek is principal consultant and SAP NetWeaver solution architect at CIBER. He combines a broad experience in SAP development, BPM and SOA possibilities to deliver innovative SAP solutions with agile project management. SAP Mentor Monday: Case Management Automation Presenter: Phil Kisloff Monday, April 12 2010 1:00-2:00 PM PST This SAP Mentor Monday will cover an interesting business problem and SAP Mentor Phil Kisloff will introduce a solution to it: Case Management is critical to the work of many organizations but is often intensely manual, paper-driven and plagued by delay and poor visibility. It is also the way most organizations handle complex customer and service interactions. Cases are distinguished by not following a predetermined path defined in advance - they lack predictability, making them difficult to automate. They are primarily driven by human participants reacting to changing context and collaborating with colleagues. See one solution to case management automation, and what can be learned for creating the next killer app in this Mentor Monday. He organized a sustainability meeting for his ASUG group last year and liked it so much, that he did it again this time within the framework of SAP Mentors. Here is his abstract: SAP Mentors are experts in many facets of the SAP business software suites, including knowledge management, data governance and corporate social responsibility and sustainability. Pushing beyond the standard boundaries of environmental, health and safety coverage into new areas of green, energy management, carbon footprint, and sustainability might seem opportunistic, but it is more than that. In this webcast, we will talk about why and how companies manage their sustainability efforts, using SAP itself as a model of data collection, analysis and governance. We will take a look from the inside out at the http://www.sapsustainabilityreport.com/site, showing how the data parameters were established, how the business processes involved were identified, and how the site has been incrementally improved based on user experience. You may find more details and images on Jim's blog. We were able to engage two SAP employees that are focusing on sustainability: Michael Beutler Sustainability Performance Director and Jonas Dennler who calculated SAP's carbon footprint and is working in the Environmental Sustainability group at SAP in Zurich. They will share the SAP's sustainability efforts as well as background to our carbon footprint calculations. They will share the SAP's sustainability efforts as well as background to our carbon footprint calculations. Replay: https://sap.na.pgiconnect.com/p85845891/ |
