Purpose
The purpose of this page is to advise regarding the maximum size of an attachment in SRM, more over a couple of alternatives are stated for specific cases.
Overview
The behavior of attachment’s maximum size in SRM is explained in the following paragraph. Regarding BID documents or if you are using external ITS, an alternative is also described for each case.
Symptom
Common error when you try to upload a large file is browser 'Time Out', but system can also raise errors like the one showed below.
Uploading an attachment in SRM
As per the standard, 5MB is the maximum size of an attachment supported in SRM.
However, for the BID/RFx process, if you need to upload files bigger than 5MB, it is possible to achieve this behavior using cFolders, instead of use the regular method to upload. You can find more information regarding SRM integration with cFolders here.
Moreover, for other documents, if you are using external ITS, it is possible to increase the MaxReqSize for the ITS as described in the attached note 67225.
This will allow you to attach files of significantly larger size. In addition, you should also ensure that the files you are attaching are compressed. Please view the following note 742048 on memory requirements for the integrated ITS, please check that you settings are correct.
