Center for Very Large Business Applications (CVLBA) at Technische Universität München
The Center for Very Large Business Applications (CVLBA) in Munich was founded in November 2006 as a research project at the Chair for Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar), Technische Universität München (TUM). The project is funded by the SAP AG who also funds Centers for Very Large Business Applications at Otto-von-Guericke Universität in Magdeburg and at the Hasso Plattner Institut (HPI) in Potsdam. The Center performs research in the field of very large business applications which are an essential part of today's heterogeneous system landscapes. A variety of research topics are investigated in Ph. D. thesis, that cover methodological, technical, organization and community related topics. There is a close collaboration with the SAP University Competence Center (UCC) at TUM, which is also a part of the Chair for Information Systems. Amongst the topical areas at CVLBA@TUM are performance issues of very large business systems, software engineering issues esp device integration in health care, adoption of new SaaS solutions in the market, information visibility ind supply networks and the use of open innovation and idea communities for VLBA via the SAPIENS-initiative (www.sapiens.info).
