SAP InnoJam: the place where business and technology meet.

Do you have ideas to create new and innovative Apps? Are you a business innovator who wants your ideas to become live? Are you eager to learn more about SAP's newest technologies? Would you like to meet and work with imaginative and talented people from SAP development community? If you are thinking YES, please register now to SAP InnoJam the 2013th.

What is SAP InnoJam?

A 30 hour workshop over two days of intense group work. The overall theme is: "Lifelong Learning" and participants will be from both companies across industries, SAP partners and selected IT students. 

Be more innovative than ever ..

The workshop will be the closest you get to live innovation, where you use and have a get a deep knowledge to SAP's latest and greatest software technologies assisted by SAP experts and coaches.

You will be introduced to Design Thinking methodologies with support from coaches. And then your team will create innovation. You will be surprised how far a group of business and technical skills can reach in 30 hours.

Present the team's solution to the SAP Innovation Forum on 14.marts

When the 30 hours are up, all teams present their solution to SAP Conference "SAP Innovation Forum 2013" in front of a panel of judges and conference attendees. A winner will be crowned as this year's SAP InnoJam group 2013.

Theme Life Long Learning: The general topic of the of the InnoJam will be centered around Life Long Learning. Can we by using the latest technologies influence our society and secure Life Long Learning? 
Challenges:
  1. Better Access to Emergency Departments
    How might we redesign the interaction between citizens and emergency departments to improve quality of life in a world with limited access to emergency departments?
  2. Innovative Education
    In a world where students demand, for a more innovative educational environment, the teachers’ role is changing. How can we support the teachers to adapt to their new role and create a better future school system?
  3. Visibility of Energy Costs
    How might we redesign the transparency of energy consumption for consumers to support a healthier environment?
  4. Better Communities
    How can we redesign the mutual involvement in communities to strengthen the social network?

Design Thinking

Design Thinking is a creative process that can solve complex problems based around the building up of ideas. There are no judgments early on, in design thinking process. This eliminates the fear of failure and encourages maximum input and participation in the ideation and prototype phases. Outside the box thinking is encouraged in these earlier processes since this can often lead to creative solutions.

One important aspect of Desing Thinking is to have a diverse team, with different backgrounds, experiences and point of views.

  • Understand: Find out what questions to ask and which information we need
  • Research: Where to get the information (Interviews, Observation, Comparison...)
  • Synthesis: Collect and organize all of the teams findings (Build a persona)
  • Ideate: Brainstorming then organizing ideas
  • Prototype: Easy to produce and a representative way your solution is suppose to Look, Feel and Work in the future.
  • Test: Get feedback from the customer
  • Learn: Iterate, Iterate, Iterate!

Day 1 - Wednesday, March 13th    
Registration 9:00 am -9:30 am Welcome Light breakfast will be served.
Welcome 9:30 am -9:40 am Keynote and
Design Thinking overview 9:40 am - 10:10 am What is Design Thinking? Get to know your team and the theme challange 'Life Long Learning'!!!
Design Thinking: Research 10:10 am - 12:00 pm 10 minutes "Get smart fast"  90 minutes user interviews, research, discover, explore, and capture
Lunch break 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm Lunch will be served.
Design Thinking: Storytelling, Synthesis, Ideation, and Prototyping 12:45 pm - 2:40 pm Discuss and analyze research results, understand and gain insights, create persona and point of view (POV), brainstorm, create mockups of prototype

Tech Fire 3:10 pm - 3:40 pm Demos and pPresentation of SAP technologies
Code Slam 3:40 pm - 7:00 pm You will collaborate with your team members to create the solution for your persona using any of the presented technologies. Technology experts will be available onsite to assist your teams.
Dinner break 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm Dinner will be served.
Code! Code! Code! 8:00 pm - 11:59 pm ( cont.) You will collaborate with your team members to create the solution for your persona using any of the presented technologies. Technology experts will be available onsite to assist your teams. Midnight snacks will be served.
Day 2 - Thursday, March 14th    
Code! Code! Code! Midnight - 1:45 pm Coding continues. Start preparing your 6-minute demo! Breakfast and lunch will be served.
Innovation Fire 2:50 pm - 3:20 pm You will present your solution within a 6-minute timeslot and receive direct feedback from the judges.
Jury Time 3:20pm - 3:30 pm Judges will get together and decide the winning team.
And the winner is... 3:30 pm -3:35 pm Judges announce the winning team. Closing.

Price: Participation € 250, with the exception of students and SAP partners where InnoJam is part of their sponsorship of the SAP Innovation Forum the 2013th
